We are happy to have seen the historic planting of one of Pennsylvania's first hemp crops - Their facility will crush hemp seed for oil and flour-
Congratulations Josh & Adam for your hardwork. There is still a lot to do but you both are doing it.
Our 10th year and I think the last years we've sown a lot of seeds that have taken root. Saturday Senator Folmer (R) and Senator Schwank(D) both presented SB50 the Pennsylvania Industrial Farm Bill Act - taking the Federal Governments persmission to get pilot programs into the States who want to see where hemp fills in. Both Senators stopped by the booth to show their constituents and Pennsylvania Citizens what we have to look forward to as the laws prohibiting hemp farming are repealed.
Monday our good friends at WEEE radio Mike interviewed Shawn for an update on what's been going on - a lot of folks heard the interview and came down to get Hempzelized at our booth 5000-1 in the Pennsylvania Market Place.
We officially had our Hempzels(tm) Soft 8 Pack Pretzel Bags finished the day before the show started - the bakery baked the freshly baked hemp swirls and we loaded up the freezer & sampled and sold a few 3 pack hot soft Swirls & a good amount of frozen swirls got taken home. Hempzel Customer Missions ? ask their local stores to pick up the product. (pictures) (videos)
This was the 2nd event - the year before I had invited Robert Rex of the Friendly Chameleon Paper Company to speak to the farmers - this event I was honored John Howell came down and Jean Laprise - that year the President of New Holland Ford provided $100 to offset my cost - he couldn't attend but sent his top 2 engineers who listened to Kennex Jean's Laprise talk about using modified John Deere equipment to harvest their hemp. That's changed in 2015.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Shawn House stands at the bottom of the Pennsylvania Capitol steps with a smile on his face and an empty bag of pretzels in his hands. "Hempzel's Pretzels," he says. "It's a mix of hemp and pretzels." It's also completely legal. House, who runs the Lancaster Trading Company and it's Hempzel's Pretzels brand, uses industrial hemp in his products every day. The hemp he uses comes from the same cannabis species as the more familiar drug, and the plant it grows from looks similar to the drug, but it contains minimal doses of tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the substance which leads to the high marijuana smokers feel. "Knowledge is powerful," Shawn says. "Just because you have seed, doesn't mean you have weed."
Hempzelized at the annual show.
